Anna Lockwood

This painting plays with power and the reversal of social norms. I used two birds which are notorious for displaying aggressive behavior, and made the larger of the two - the loner Marabou Stork - the compliant, subservient follower.
This wouldn't happen in real life, I use birds as metaphors for human behavior, and find anthropomorphic traits in all birds, but especially those with long legs.
